What is this? Lettera is the music obsession's 13th instrument and the first one where the score leaves the page. Click anywhere on the staff to place a notehead. Click a notehead to hear it. Click 'copy lettera URL' to encode the entire phrase into a link and put it on your clipboard. Send the link to someone. When they open it, the staff loads with your composition and they can press play to hear what you heard.

How it works. Each notehead's position encodes a pitch (vertical) and a time slot (horizontal). The phrase is JSON-encoded, base64-stamped, and appended to the URL as ?score=. No server. No database. The melody lives in the URL itself — small enough to fit in a text message, durable enough to outlast the page that made it.
